The Great Work

In alchemy, the Great Work (magnum opus) isn't about gold. It's about the human being. It is the process of fully unfolding one's abilities, gaining power over fate, freeing the will.

The alchemists projected inner processes onto matter. But the essence is the transformation of the self.

## What the alchemical structure is

## Albedo — the white

Purification. Awareness. "I understood." "I saw." "I admitted it."

## Rubedo — the red

Union. Result. "I stopped being afraid." "Shame killed fear."

No anesthesia.
